Car history:
2) High Option 1970 Corvette Coupe! This vehicle is a recent trade in on a newer Corvette from our inventory. Originally a 300 hp 350, this vehicle is now powered by a very stout 350 ci 385 hp crate engine with the fast burn heads and an MSD ignition. The turbo 400 automatic transmission has been professionally built and shifts perfectly every time. Rear end is not original and features hardened yokes to insure miles of uninterrupted driving and performance. It appears to have a steep set of gears which launch the car extremely strong. The tank has been fitted with a larger fuel pickup and an electric fuel pump. This Corvette is loaded with power windows, power steering, power brakes, air conditioning, leather, tilt/telescoping steering wheel and P02 Deluxe wheel cover option. Originally painted Donnybrook green, it is now white with saddle leather interior. The frame is excellent and very solid underneath. This car drives excellent but could use a little freshening up as the paint is showing signs of stress cracks and the color is wearing on the rear top corners, likely from the car cover previously installed. It still has a great shine and is sure to turn heads going down the road. The car is fitted with an LT1 hood and will also include the original hood as part of the package. Vehicle build date is May 19, 1970. We have a separate correct 350 long block including oil pan with a March 18, 1970 date code The pad shows as a 300 hp motor but is stamped incorrect for the vehicle. This engine will be included in addition to the current installed crate motor if the vehicle is sold at our buy it now price. Seats and carpet are in excellent condition and will show well with a good cleaning. The dash pad is solid with only a few cracks across the speaker grills. The door panels are beginning to show signs of age with some cracking of the inlay. T-Top bags are included with this vehicle. The glass is in excellent condition. Windshield has been replaced as some point in the vehicle history. The vehicle runs and drives with loads of power. It will need a few things as follows: A/C works but is not terribly cold. It does appear to have the original A/C compressor. LEDs do not function, Wiper door does not open and wipers do not work, Tach is not functional. Previous owner installed a new power brake booster and claims the cable was not reattached upon reassembly. Radio does not work. Vents do not appear to change from defrost to vent when dial is adjusted. This is likely due to vacuum lines that need to be traced and corrected. Title shows mileage as exempt. The intake manifold has a 1968 date code. The gentlemen that traded the car to me said the crate motor was installed about 4k miles ago and the spare engine was removed at that time. He also stated the spare engine was beginning to smoke. I do not have anything other than his word on this. I am not certain it is a Vette motor. Someone attempted to restamp the VIN portion but did a bad job. The engine stamp appears to still be original. It really should be decked and restamped to do it correct. The block code is 3970010. The date code appears to be C180. The intake appears to be from a 69 but I have not cleaned the excess paint from it to determine the exact date. I do have in my notes that the pad has the code CTG which is correct for a 300 hp automatic. I can say that I drove the Vette and it is extremely quick. The paint does need some attention specifially the top of the rear spoiler on the outer edges. The typical stress cracks are showing around the headlight doors and the tops of both front fenders are showing signs of paint cracking. The fiberglass appears to be really solid on this car so the foundation should be really good to work with. $15,900. Color codes from the trim plate. Built date is E19. July 8, 2010.
1) Florida Car for the 10 plus years. Probably sold for $14,000.
